Andrew DAVIDSON-NOVOSIVSCHEI
Andrew DAVIDSON-NOVOSIVSCHEI (b. 1987) is a teacher, poet, and translator from Arizona, and has been living in Bucharest since 2015. He writes poetry in Romanian and in English, which has appeared in journals such as Poesis International, Tribuna, Apricity Press, Poetic Stand, and “the taste of freedom” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Andrew’s solo show, “pop-up book” (2022), exhibited his poetry along with drawings at Diptych Art Space. He’s been invited to festivals including Poezia e la Bistrița, the Bucharest International Poetry Festival, the Iași International Festival of Literature and Translation (FILIT), and reading clubs such as Republica and the Max Blecher Institute. Andrew’s translations have been published in journals such as Asymptote Journal, Trafika Europe, and have been awarded residencies from the Romanian Cultural Institute and FILIT. A debuted with a poetry volume in Romanian, inimă leneșă [lazy heart], which was awarded the 2024 Radu Demetriades Prize for Debut and was published by Dezarticulat Books the same year.
