Ştefan MANASIA

Ştefan MANASIA (born 1977, Piteşti, Romania). Poet and journalist, he is the publisher of the cultural magazine Tribuna. In 2008, he initiated in Cluj the Reading Club „Nepotu’ lui Thoreau” (The Nephew of Thoreau, with János Szántai and François Bréda) – the largest Romanian-Hungarian literary community in Transylvania. He has published six volumes of poetry: Amazon şi alte poeme (Amazon and other poems, 2003), cartea micilor invazii (the book of small invasions, 2008, Manuscriptum Prize for poetry, National Museum of Romanian Literature), motocicleta de lemn (the wooden motorcycle, 2011, Young Writer of the Year Prize), Bonobo sau cucerirea spaţiului (Bonobo or the conquest of space, 2013), Cerul senin (The Clear Sky, 2015, The Poetry Prize of Observator Cultural – the best Romanian cultural magazine) and Gustul Cireşelor (The Taste of Cherries, 2017). His poems are translated into English, Hungarian, French, German, Polish, Hebrew etc. He participates in public readings in Romania and abroad (Budapest, Berlin, Bruxelles, Prague, Čseské Budějovice, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Tivon, Madrid). He published the volume of essays and literary chronical Stabilizator de aromă (Flavor Stabilizer, 2016) and the novel Cronovizorul (2020). Passionate about cinema, visual arts, biology, the archeology of anxiety, the alchemy of horror, in his book of poems published in 2011, he summarizes his creedo (meta) poetic as: “Man, this mystic bug.” (Summa Theologica).
